This week the squad got a Saturday morning game against Newcastle in the new league format. The team started off brightly with the midfield of Finn, Shane, Joseph and Keane battling hard and creating chances for Odhran upfront. The back three of Iona, Eoghan and Charlie were being well marshalled by Corey in nets, allowing them to play from the back and snuffing out any chances.

The second half continued as the first with the team creating chances but now with the introduction of Philip and Alfie there was a different threat to the Newcastle team. Full time 1-2

This week the squad got a Saturday morning game v Taughmonagh. The team started off brightly with the midfield of Finn, Dylan, Joseph and Keane battling hard and creating chances for Odhran upfront. The back three of Iona, Eoghan and Charlie were being well marshalled by Corey in nets, allowing them to play from the back and snuffing out any chances.

The second half continued as the first with the team creating chances but now with the introduction of Conor, Shane and Alfie there was a different threat to the Taughmonagh team. It wasn’t long before the hard work would pay off with more goals to take the victory. Full time 7-1

This week the squad got a Saturday morning game v Warrenpoint Colts. The team started off brightly with the midfield of Finn, Dylan, Joseph and Keane battling hard and creating chances for Odhran upfront. The back three of Iona, Eoghan and Charlie were being well marshalled by Corey in nets, allowing them to play from the back and snuffing out any chances. It was Warrenpoint who would open the scoring and take the lead into the break. Half time 0-1

The second half continued as the first with the team creating chances but now with the introduction of Conor, Shane, Philip and Alfie there was a different threat to the Warrenpoint team. It wasn’t long before the hard work would pay off with goals to take the victory. Full time 5-1

Northend United 3 Glendowan Colts 2  Friday 12th January 2023

This week the squad got a Friday night game at a cold Crewe against Glendowan Colts. The team started off brightly with the midfield of Finn, Dylan, Joseph and Keane battling hard and creating chances for Odhran upfront. The back three of Iona, Eoghan and Charlie were being well marshalled by Oisin in nets, allowing them to play from the back and snuffing out any chances. It was Glendowan who would open the scoring but this was quickly equalised by a nice finish by Dylan. Half time 1-1

The second half continued as the first with the team creating chances but now with the introduction of Conor, Shane, Philip and Alfie there was a different threat to the Glendown team. Glendowan took a shock lead and then missed a pen which would have finished the game. Odhran pulled one back and with the last few minutes left a corner was swung in for Shane to head in the winner. Full time 3-2

Saturday morning so a return to league action in a cold morning in Finaghy against Glens United. The team started off brightly with the midfield of Finn, Shane, Joseph and Alfie battling hard and creating chances for Odhran upfront. The back three of Iona, Philip and Eoghan were being well marshalled by Corey in nets, allowing them to play from the back and snuffing out any chances. It wasn’t long before the goals started to come allowing the subs of Conor and Keane to be introduced and players being given the chance in different positions.

The second half continued as the first with the team creating and finishing the chances. To their credit, Glens pulled one back and were denied a second after a great save from Corey Campbell from a penalty. Full time 6-1
